Troubleshooting the Voltstack 30k electric generator

1. The unit does not power on:

  • Ensure that the “Emergency Stop” button is not pressed.
  • Retry pushing the button labelled “Master ON/OFF” on the front panel.
  • If still unresolved, record the black-start battery voltage and contact 604-901-2500 for support.

2. AC Output not active after the unit is turned on:

  • Take a photo of the alarm screen.
  • Power off the system.
  • Wait two minutes.
  • Power on the system.
  • If not resolved, retry the sequence up to three times.
  • If unresolved, call 604-901-2500 for support.

3. AC Power is not present at outlets:

  • Check for “AC Output Active” on the top left side of the main display screen.
  • Check that the AC output breakers are in the “On” position.
  • Ensure that the output door located on the bottom right of the unit is closed properly.
  • If not resolved, turn the unit off, wait 2 minutes and turn the system back on.
  • If still unresolved, take photos of connections and display screens, including any alarms present and contact 604-901-2500 for support.

4. Over Temperature Alarms:

  • Take a photo of the alarm screen and the “dark mode/ALL screen” to capture the code name, timestamp, and internal temperature parameters.
  • If the ambient environment is above 30 degrees Celsius, ensure the unit is oriented with the rear facing away from the sun and that the unit is shaded from direct sunlight (canopy or indoors).
  • If the unit has previously been charging/discharging, allow 30 minutes of cool-down time while in the Power ON state (with no loads or charging).
  • If not resolved, contact 604-901-2500 for support.

5. Battery alarm (single or multiple battery modules not powered after start-up):

  • Take a photo of the alarm screen to capture the code name and timestamp.
  • Acknowledge alarm.
  • Power off the system, wait 2 minutes and power on the system.
  • If a new timestamp for the same alarm is active, take a photo and call 604-901-2500 for support.

Best practices for safe operation of the Voltstack 30k electric generator

1. Pre-deployment / Planning

  • Assess where the Voltstack power station will be placed to ensure it’s safe: not in direct contact with dangerous heat sources, free from combustible fumes, and not receiving direct moisture.
  • Determine the equipment that will be charged or powered by the Voltstack power station to ensure all are within the power consumption, current, and voltage parameters of the power station.
  • If necessary, consult with the equipment manufacturer. Please call 604-901-2500 for support.

2. Operations

  • The Voltstack 30k electric generator is a Type 1 Enclosure and is designed to be used in dry environments. Usage during rain, snow or when other moisture is present could result in an electric shock or electrocution and should, therefore, be avoided.
  • Ensure the Voltstack power station(s) are configured to deliver power within the manufacturer’s recommendations. Please call 604-901-2500 for support.
  • Ensure the operator(s) are familiar with how to connect/disconnect safely, power on/power off, transport and store the Voltstack power station(s) being deployed.
  • Before each use, check the Voltstack power station(s), connectors, and cables for damage, defect, or any aspect of the setup that poses a safety risk.
  • Ensure the Voltstack power station(s) have suitable clearance for ventilation, including the intake vents, and that they are located away from direct heat sources.
  • Recharge the Voltstack power station(s) at the end of a day or operational cycle.
  • The Voltstack 30k battery energy storage system comes equipped with our “Smart Hybrid” technology. Listed below are the recommended generators that can be paired with the Voltstack 30k industrial mobile power station.
    • Multiquip DCA7OSSIU4F
    • Multiquip DCA7OSSJU4F
    • Doosan G70WDO-3A-T4F

Voltstack 30k electric generator safety FAQs

1. How do I know the Voltstack power station’s battery is overloaded?
If it is a temporary or “jolt” overload, the state of charge Intervals on the battery monitor will be flashing. If the overload persists, the unit will power down.

2. How do I recover if the battery pack is overloaded and the Voltstack has powered down?
Turn off any equipment the unit was powering. Restart the Voltstack, and check if the state of charge is sufficient, then begin powering on all the equipment items/systems one at a time, checking that none of them induce another overload. Resume regular operation once all loads are reconnected, and no overload is detected.

3. What is the immediate response in case of overheating or fire?
If it is safe, turn off any equipment connected to the Voltstack power station, remove anything combustible from its vicinity, and power off the Voltstack. Do not attempt to extinguish the fire, and do not put anyone in danger trying to power off the device. Evacuate personnel from the vicinity of the unit.

4. How do I safely connect to the grid?
The Voltstack power station is designed for safe, easy grid recharge using the charging ports. However, DO NOT connect to either grid power or other power generation supply through the AC output connectors. This will permanently damage the unit and may cause a dangerous electric shock.
